Terms and conditions

In effect from

These terms cover the use of this website and enquiries sent through it. The terms of any trip you book are the ones in the written confirmation we send you, which take precedence over anything on this page.

Who you are dealing with

This website is operated by Horus Tours, a travel agency with its office at 12 Talaat Harb Street, Downtown Cairo, Egypt. Where these terms say "we" or "us", that is who they mean.

An enquiry is not a booking

Sending an enquiry through this site, on WhatsApp or by phone does not book anything and does not oblige either of us to anything.

A booking exists when we have sent you a written confirmation setting out what is included and what it costs, and you have accepted it and paid what that confirmation asks for. Until then there is no reservation and no held price.

Prices and availability

Prices shown on this site are a guide. What a trip actually costs depends on the dates, the number of travellers, the class of hotel and the airfare available on the day, and airfares in particular move constantly.

A price becomes fixed when it is written in a confirmation we have sent you. Packages, departure dates and seat counts shown here can sell out or change while you are reading them.

Hajj and Umrah

Hajj and Umrah packages are subject to the rules, quotas and permit systems set by the authorities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and to the arrangements set by the Egyptian authorities.

Those rules change, sometimes at short notice and sometimes after a package has been sold. We will tell you as soon as we know, and we will do what we can, but we cannot guarantee an outcome that depends on a decision that is not ours to make.

Passports, visas and health requirements

Making sure you can travel is your responsibility. That means a passport valid for long enough, the right visa, and any vaccination or health documents the destination requires.

We will advise you on what is normally needed and help with applications where we can. We are not liable if you are refused boarding or entry because a document was missing, expired or incorrect.

Paying, changing and cancelling

The deposit, the balance date, and what happens if you change or cancel are set out in the confirmation for your trip. They differ between packages because airlines, hotels and pilgrimage operators impose different terms on us.

Where a supplier keeps money we have already paid on your behalf, we cannot refund it. We will always tell you what is recoverable before you commit.

Insurance

We strongly recommend travel insurance covering medical treatment, cancellation and lost baggage, taken out when you book rather than before you travel. Some destinations require it.

What we are responsible for

We are responsible for arranging your trip with reasonable skill and care, and for the services we provide ourselves.

Much of a trip is delivered by other companies: airlines, hotels, transport operators and local guides. Where one of them fails, we will help you pursue it, but our liability is limited to the value of the arrangements you booked with us. We are not liable for events outside anyone's reasonable control, including weather, strikes, airspace closures, civil unrest and the decisions of border authorities.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Using this website

You may use this site to read about our services and to contact us. Please do not:

  • Send enquiries you have no intention of following up, or use the forms to send advertising.
  • Attempt to interfere with the site, its security, or other people's use of it.
  • Copy the text, photographs or design for use elsewhere without asking us.

We may decline to deal with an enquiry, and we limit how many can be sent from one connection so that the office can keep reading them.

Accuracy

We keep this site up to date and correct mistakes as soon as we find them. Even so, descriptions, photographs and prices can be out of date or contain errors, and a photograph of a hotel is not a promise about a particular room.

If something matters to your decision, ask us to confirm it in writing before you book.

If something goes wrong

Tell us while you are travelling, if you can. Most problems can be fixed on the spot and become much harder to put right afterwards. Contact the office on the number in your confirmation.

If you are still unhappy when you get home, write to us and we will look into it properly.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the courts of Egypt have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your booking is the one published when you accepted your confirmation, and we keep a record of it.

Questions

If anything here is unclear, ask before you book. The office would far rather answer a question in advance than discuss it afterwards.
